Arab Council Celebrates 40 years

On Saturday 9 November 2019, at The Bellevue Venue in Bankstown, Arab Council Australia celebrated its 40th Anniversary.

The sold-out event was attended by distinguished guests, friends, supporters, community members and  organisations, former and current board and staff members and volunteers.

Council’s CEO, Ms Randa Kattan summarised the 40-year history of Arab Council Australia emphasising the principles that have guided the organisation since inception and launched the anniversary video “40 Reasons Why”.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we live and work.

This land always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

We also acknowledge the people of Palestine and their rights for self-determination. We acknowledge the devastation and mass atrocities continuing in Gaza and hope that through greater awareness and collective action, we can work towards a world free from genocide, violence and injustice.

Palestine was and always will be Palestinian land.
