Invitation
You are invited to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Arab Council Australia (Council) which will be held on Thursday, 14 December 2023, with arrival and registration from 6:00 pm for a 6:30 pm start.
The event will be held on Darug Land at Council’s offices on level 2, 44-46, Mandarin St Fairfield East and will be co-chaired by Zizi Charida and Nikolai Haddad.
Friends and supporters are welcome but RSVP is essential by no later than Wed, 13 December 2023 at info@arabcouncil.org.au or 9709 4333.

In grief, compassion & perseverance
The war on Gaza and the escalating violence in the West Bank have resulted in the killing of thousands of civilians including children, mass destruction and the displacement of over a million people. These events have greatly impacted the Palestinian, Arab and wider community in Australia. There is a great deal of distress and trauma as we witness the violence and the colossal loss of life and many in the community anxiously wait for news on loved ones.
Following the official part of the AGM, the evening will continue as a space for the community, friends and supporters to come together in grief, compassion and perseverance.
Please feel free to bring your message of support, wear your keffiyeh, don your traditional costume, or just join as you are.
AGM 2023
In addition to adopting the previous AGM minutes, we will be receiving reports about Council’s activities over the past 12 months and electing a new Board.
Nicholas Hanna, Principal Solicitor of Hanna Legal, will preside over the election of the Board as the Returning Officer.

Our membership is diverse, and we want to continue building a stronger progressive and inclusive voice and would like those who support our vision to join us. If you cannot locate financial members to propose and second your application, just let us know and we will endeavour to assist you. All memberships are subject to the standard rules and procedures of Council as outlined in the constitution.
