Arab Council Australia would like you to join us for the Walk for Respect to show that you stand with us and want to protect our multicultural community to encourage harmony not hate speech.

WHEN
March 31, 2017 at 5:30pm - 8pm

WHERE
Corner Gillies St and Haldon St
Lakemba, NSW
Australia

Together we can again stop changes to the Racial Discrimination Act

Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act is under threat from the government.

Section 18C prevents Australians from all backgrounds from being the target of any kind of racist hate speech which leads to exclusion and marginalization and sometimes further violence.

In multicultural Australia, today, diversity is respected and encouraged and undermining current race hate law allows racism to become normalized under the guise of free speech. We support freedom of speech, but we also support the right of the Australian community to be protected from racist hate speech.

We can save the law that protects all Australians from hurtful and divisive speech.

Walk for Respect to show that you stand with us and want to protect our multicultural community to encourage harmony not hate speech.

Assemble at 5pm, we walk at 5.30pm
